I generally try to stay away from politics here at STWOF, but I thought you might find it interesting that bluegrass legend Ralph Stanley has recorded a radio spot for Barack Obama.

Gee. This endorsement sucks. Time to clean out all my Ralph Stanley stuff now - too bad, 'cuz I really enjoyed his music right up 'til the minute he fucked up this bad ... See ya, Ralph ...
richard, you're gonna have to clean out a lot of really great stuff if you let politics inform your choices in music. Say goodbye to Willie Nelson, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Del McCoury...
Hey, I'm just happy to see that a bluegrass legend is seen as a go-to endorser.
(And good point Brendan.)
I don't have a problem with any of that ... hate to see the music go, but hey, life's tough all over ...
Rank Strangers is a weird choice of background songs for a political endorsement, im not sure what message that sends.
Great news! He's a real legend in rural Virginia. Richard, feel free to send your stuff my way.
Go ahead and send me some stuff as well, Richard
