As much as I love country music it can get to be a bit much after awhile. Even I need to take a break from it sometimes.
Considering how much country I've been posting lately, I thought it might be time to "cleanse the palate" here at STWOF. This song is about as far from Billy Joe Shaver or George Jones as anything else I could find on my i-pod this morning. And something about it is very cleansing...

Well I was gonna say if folks want some hard country try wqah.com out of Hartselle, Ala. Pure country/pure bluegrass.
Let me give you a hint, you won't hear no Townes Van Zandt, Gram Parsons, or the Dixie Chicks.
All bluegrass on Saturday night & bluegrass gospel on Sunday morning.
What about Francoise Hardy? Will they hear that?
You bet! And Prince.
"As much as I love country music it can get to be a bit much after awhile."
What? What? What? You've got to be kidding me. "A bit much after awhile"? What? Good grief. We've come this far as a civilization, only to hear that? Great music "can get to be a bit much after awhile"? Pi Jesu.
I didn't say I get sick of music, just country music sometimes. Variety is the spice of life.
Comment te dire adieu (1968) is one of the many fine hits Francoise Hardy had in the 1960's and early 1970's. It was a cover of an obscure English song. The French lyrics are very clever. Serge Gainsbourg penned them. Miss Hardy is still singing today and recording very good albums.
If you need to take a break from country music, maybe you're not man enough to blog about it.
Maybe not. Or maybe it's just that I'm not a one-dimensional twit.
Very healthy and skinny in those pictures.
