Well folks, that's it for the drinking songs. Another box checked off the STWOF to-do list...
I know I missed some good ones, but I'm all out of booze (and out of steam), so the rest will have to wait for another day. Right now, I just need some sleep!
Until we meet again, enjoy these tunes:Ted Hawkins - Sorry You're Sick (buy)Lefty Frizzell & Johnny Bond - Sick, Sober & Sorry (buy)George Jones - Heartaches & Hangovers (buy)Kris Kristofferson - Sunday Mornin' Comin' Down (buy)Hank Thompson - Hangover Tavern (buy)
I'll be back when the cuckoo wails and the lonesome blue jay cries...

Sunday Mornin Comin Down has to be
the ultimate hangover song. Been listening to alot of Kristofferson lately and can't believe how underated alot of his post 'Kristoffeson' and 'Silver Tongued Devil' work is. 'To The Bone' is an awesome record, a real heartbreak classic. Probably too much for my head today though but George Jones is perfect, heartache and hangover rolled into one in a wonderfully soothing song. What a voice! Hank Thompson and Lefty are artists that have really grown on me the past year or so too. Great selections, thanks for helping me on the road to recovery Paul. All I need now is a couple of beers and an early night and I'll be good as new.
Hi, I do agree with you that you have left out some good ones but you have included Gary Stewart so for the moment I am satisfied. Thanx for your efforts. Bostig
I've been pretty sweet on "Hangover Tavern" by Hank Thompson for some time now.
A guy from Texas named Billy Ray turned me on to him. I figured a guy named Billy Ray from Texas can't be too wrong about country music. I was right.
Close your eyes....we'll be here in the mornin' - and possibly hung over! So tell me more about Ted Hawkins -- loved that song a lot.
I just wanted to say you have really done a good job here. Drinking songs is boss.
Come on man! Buy more booze and keep this sweet thread going! It's just too damned good.
